Vacancy Type: Permanent/Part Time

Location: 22-24 High Street, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1JF

Hours: 30 hours to include alternate weekend working and selected bank holidays

Salary: £25,565 per annum, pro rata for part time. Hourly rate is £13.11.

This is a great opportunity for anyone that has a passion for preloved items and would like to experience working in charity retail. As deputy manager you will support the manager to:

  • maintain great standards to give our customers and donors an excellent shopping service
  • help to manage a team of paid staff and volunteers, including promoting volunteer recruitment opportunities
  • maintain good relations with the general public, the wider retail and logistics teams as well as colleagues across the whole Hospice
  • complete any required paperwork needed
  • work as part of the Retail Hospice team

This job would suit someone who enjoys retail and working in a lively, fast paced environment. You will need to have enthusiasm, be customer orientated and enjoy working with a diverse range of products and people. You will be required to complete paperwork and therefore a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products is desirable. It would also be desirable to have experience in the day to day management of a shop, including stock management, merchandising, health and safety and financial procedures. As you may be required to supervise volunteers under the age of 18 years, we ask our shop staff to have an Enhanced DBS certificate (which we will arrange).
