We have an exciting opportunity for a new Deputy Store Manager to assist in running our Devonshire Road Store. Devonshire Road is one of Weston Hospicecare's most important retail locations and our third largest income-generating store. It is an eclectic shop with a broad mix of furniture, fashion and general retail, making it a varied and interesting place to work. The Deputy Manager plays a key role in supporting the Store Manager to keep the shop running smoothly and performing well.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the Store Manager with the day-to-day running of the store.
  • Taking responsibility for opening and closing the shop and acting as Duty Manager when required.
  • Supporting and guiding paid staff and volunteers during shifts.
  • Helping to maintain strong standards of customer service, merchandising and stock flow.
  • Assisting with operational tasks including gift aid, stock processing, compliance and health & safety.
  • Stepping in to cover the Store Manager role during periods of absence.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a retail or charity retail environment.
  • An interest in developing people and building confidence in leading others.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to take on responsibility.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise day-to-day tasks.
  • Basic IT skills and a positive attitude to learning new systems.
  • An Enhanced DBS check will be required (arranged and paid for by us).
