A little bit about the role... Due to growth within Weston Homes we have an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join the team at our Takeley headquarters. You'll be at the forefront of transforming land into vibrant residential communities, producing high-quality planning content from initial site assessments through to full applications and appeals. Your work will directly shape our developments, ensuring every project meets planning regulations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Conduct initial site appraisals and detailed due diligence to assess development potential
  • Coordinate the timely submission of planning conditions and S106 obligations
  • Work closely with the design team to resolve planning issues throughout the application process
  • Prepare professional planning statements and supporting documentation for planning applications
  • Provide research and coordination support for planning appeals
  • Represent the company in meetings with local authorities, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Liaise efficiently with external consultants and internal teams to keep projects moving forward
  • Stay up to date with changes in planning policy and legislation
  • Review working drawings as part of the early-stage design and planning process
  • Take on additional planning-related duties as needed

What we'd like in return...

  • Postgraduate Degree or equivalent in Town Planning or relevant subject
  • Member of the RTPI
  • Good knowledge of planning application process
  • Good knowledge of national and local government policy, local development plans and National Policy
  • Previous experience working on residential schemes within the public or private sectors
  • Computer literate specifically with Google Docs & Gmail
  • Good communication and organisation skills
