This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.
Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
The SEND and Inclusion Lead will lead the support for students with SEND and other barriers that may cause them to become NEET (not in education, employment or training), particularly those with EHCPs.
Due to the nature of this role, you could be based at any of our campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
Day to day duties of the role include but are not limited to
- Line managing a team of LSAs and engagement officers, overseeing their practice, development and progression.
Completing appraisals and ensuring on-going monitoring of performance.
- Effectively allocating LSAs to meet student need; providing accurate timetables to ensure efficient use of resources across all curriculum activities.
- Supporting the effective use of digital resources and assistive technology wherever possible, to ensure that all students develop their independence over time.
- Preparing essential paperwork linked to Annual Reviews and co-ordinate review meetings. Collate, track and follow up essential paperwork.
- Required skills and qualifications
- SEND or Sp LD qualification at a minimum of Level 2.
- Experience of supporting young people with SEND and/or additional learning needs.
- Experience of managing a busy workload in an education setting.
- Able to organise and prioritise workloads and activities, meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
- Able to build productive relationships and rapport with colleagues, students and other key
stakeholders.
