As one of the fastest-growing Colleges in the UK, delivering courses from entry level right up to Masters degrees, Weston College is an inspiring place to work. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare. The English and Maths team work across all of our campuses.

Responsibilities

  • To deliver high quality teaching and learning on a range of courses at different levels and contexts, both discrete, face to face and on-line.
  • Proactively track and record student progress against starting points ensuring that accurate and reliable information on the predicted achievement and success of learners is readily available.
  • To complete and use initial assessments of learners (BKSB/MathsWatch), to ensure that their learning needs are met.
  • To act as a link tutor ensuring that external assessments and exams are organised and communicated to vocational staff and their students effectively.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification, which is appropriate to the role.
  • All candidates for teaching posts must possess a recognized Teaching Qualification, or be prepared to gain a Certificate in Education within the first three years of service, with the assistance of the College.
  • Ability to teach GCSE and Functional Skills maths from Entry Level to Level 2.
  • Postgraduate and/or relevant professional experience.
