The college is seeking to appoint a SEND Lead, to lead and oversee specific support for a caseload of students with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs.
To line manage a group of LSAs, ensuring that students with additional learning needs are supported effectively with timely and appropriate resources and intervention that builds their independence and confidence over time.
This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week on a Maternity Cover basis.
Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
As a SEND Lead, you may be based at any of our Weston-super-Mare campuses.
- Day to day duties of the role
- To line manage a group of LSAs, overseeing their practice, development and progression. Completing appraisals and ensuring ongoing monitoring of performance.
- To effectively allocate LSAs to meet student need; providing accurate timetables to ensure efficient use of resources across all curriculum activities.
- To support the effective use of digital resources and assistive technology wherever possible, to ensure that all students develop their independence over time.
- To liaise with teaching staff, academic managers and other professionals to ensure a collaborative approach to student support at all times.
- Required skills and qualifications
- SEND or Sp LD qualification at a minimum of Level 2.
- Experience of supporting young people with SEND and/or additional learning needs.
- Experience of managing a busy workload in an education setting.
- Able to organise and prioritise workloads and activities, meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
