The predicted salary is between 18000 - 25000 £ per year.

As this is a term-time only position, the anticipated start date will be September. This role will involve delivering tailored interventions to enable apprentices to develop skills and successfully progress on their apprenticeship, including associated maths and English qualifications. This role will support students with an EHCP or declared SEND need, liaising with tutors and employers to ensure that the right support is in place. The role will involve ensuring that all interventions that are delivered are supported by the necessary paperwork to allow for ALS funding to be claimed. Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare. You may be based at any of our Weston-super-Mare campuses.

Day to day duties of the role:

  • Working with the apprenticeship team to identify apprentices with SEND and planning appropriate interventions for those identified as needing them.
  • Planning, implementing and reviewing 1:1 and small group SEND interventions in collaboration with Deputy Head, Lecturers and SEND Leads within the associated curriculum area.
  • Ensuring that the SEND interventions are in line with apprentices' needs through well established initial assessments and clearly link to section F for learners who have an EHCP.
  • Using relevant audit and compliance paperwork to effectively track apprentice's progress leading to successful outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • SEND or SpLD qualification at a minimum of Level 2.
  • Experience of supporting young people with SEND and/or additional learning needs.
  • Skills in the development and implementation of individual learning programmes and personal tutorials.
  • Experience of managing a busy workload in an education setting.
