This is a full-time, term-time only role, working 39 weeks per year, 37 hours per week. As this is a term-time only position, the anticipated start date for this role is September.
As a Learning Support Co-ordinator, you will provide high-quality support (both in and out of class) for students with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs. You will operationally coordinate and line manage a small group of LSAs, ensuring that students with additional learning needs are supported effectively with timely and appropriate resources.
Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare. You may be based at any of our Weston-super-Mare campuses.
Day to day duties of the role:
- Provide timely, high-quality and proactive learning support (both in and out of classroom) for students with SEND across the college.
- Operationally coordinate the day-to-day activity of a small group of LSAs, overseeing their practice, development and progression.
- Complete individual appraisals and ensure ongoing monitoring of performance.
- Effectively allocate LSAs to meet student need; providing accurate timetables to ensure efficient use of resources across all curriculum activities.
- Support the effective use of digital resources and assistive technology wherever possible, to ensure that all students develop their independence over time.
Required skills and qualifications:
- SEND or SpLD training at Level 2 or Level 3 (or working towards).
- Experience of supporting young people with SEND and/or additional learning needs.
- Experience of managing a busy workload in an education setting.
- Able to organise and prioritise workloads and activities, meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
