We are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant (Apprenticeships), to support the team, in Filton, Bristol.
- This is a part-time, term-time only role, working
- 40 weeks per year
- , 29.6 hours per week
- (4 days per week)
We may consider applications from candidates who wish to work 2 or 3 days per week.
As this is a term-time only position, the anticipated start date is September.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential learning support to apprentices with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), to ensure that apprentices are proactively supported to develop their independence and to achieve their full potential.
- Day to day duties of the role
- To use relevant professional feedback and input from apprentices and their families to write and implement high-quality Additional Learning Support (ALS) Plans for an agreed caseload of apprentices.
- To provide regular support for an identified caseload of apprentices, either 1:1 or in small groups to enable them to overcome barriers to learning.
- To support apprentices to participate in all aspects of college activity and to develop their study skills and strategies for independent learning.
- To provide personal care/medical support as required for individual apprentices with care plans.
- Required skills and qualifications
- Experience of supporting young people with a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
- Experience of working within an education or social care setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of learning difficulties and disabilities, and the impact this has on learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of other professionals.
