Weston College is looking for a small number of Cover Supervisors to join our team on a term-time only basis (up to 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year), with each role based at one of our campuses within Weston-super-Mare. We are open to receiving applications from candidates who are interested in full-time (37 hours per week) and/or part-time hours (less than 37 hours per week).
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes in the absence of their usual teaching staff. You will be delivering pre-set work, which means there will be limited lesson planning or preparation involved in the role. Your main focus will be ensuring that all students remain engaged and focused on their work.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be working on a term-time only basis (up to 38 weeks per year). During your non-working times, there are no expectations to complete any admin work such as preparation or marking; all aspects of the role will be undertaken during your 38 weeks per year. If you are not required for cover, then you will provide 1:1, small group or in-class support where needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be flexible and adaptable as it is highly unlikely that any two days will be the same! You will also need to have a degree-level qualification, have excellent organisational skills and show an empathetic and inclusive approach to learners.
Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare. Weston College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We value equality, diversity and inclusion, and welcome applications from all backgrounds and communities.
