As one of the fastest-growing Colleges in the UK, delivering courses from entry level right up to Masters degrees, Weston College is an inspiring place to work. Working within the college's Careers and Employability team, the post-holder will be responsible for coordinating all elements of the UCAS cycle for all Weston College learners, providing effective and timely information, advice and guidance for learners wishing to progress to Higher Education.
In addition to the delivery of all UCAS tutorials, events and 1:1 guidance, the post-holder will also provide guidance on Student Finance and ensure not just students, but parent/carers and other stakeholders are informed of vital information. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare. This position has the potential for home working, with flexibility agreed based on the requirements of the role.
Day to day duties of the role:
- Provide information and advice about progression to Higher Education while supporting the University Centre Weston in promoting its own HE provision to potential and current students.
- Provide effective information, advice and guidance to learners and their key influencers on Higher Education, progression options and UCAS processes.
- Create, deliver and coordinate a suite of UCAS tutorials to all level 3 learners, working with the other staff to ensure a joined-up approach.
- Co-ordinate the UCAS application process for the College ensuring timely and quality applications are submitted.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience of careers guidance in an education setting.
- Used to working towards targets and KPI's in a business-orientated role.
- Ability to present effectively to a variety of audiences in large groups.
- Able to work as a member of a team with good interpersonal skills and to be adaptable.
