The predicted salary is between 31650 - 37694 £ per year.

The college is seeking to appoint a highly‑motivated and committed SEND Specialist – Autism (HE Apprenticeships) to work closely with students who declare a disability, specific learning difference, or support need – supporting them to access and succeed in their chosen programme, achieving positive outcomes.

This is a part‑time role, working 18.5 hours per week.

Interviews for this role will take place on‑site at one of our college campuses in Weston‑super‑Mare.

Responsibilities

  • Advising HE students and applicants regarding Disabled Student Allowance, supporting applications and enabling students to arrange external support.
  • Creating and delivering elements of UCW's Headstart programme to support transition of students with disabilities, additional needs and learning differences.
  • Facilitating all HE students to complete online screening processes at the start of term and following up with any individuals identified as having potential learning differences or support needs.
  • Carrying out high‑quality Initial Needs Assessments, along with other appropriate assessments, to establish support needs and effectively track progress leading to successful outcomes.
  • Required skills and qualifications
  • A Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate area.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e. g. National Autistic Society, British Dyslexia Association, PATOSS, ADSHE, Dyslexia Guild, SASC, NADP, BACP, BPS).
  • Experience of developing and implementing individualised support programmes successfully.
