Weston College is seeking an inspiring, forward-thinking leader to join us as the Deputy Director - Apprenticeships. This pivotal role is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional with a strong understanding of apprenticeships, government policy, and quality frameworks - and the ambition to influence strategy at a college recognised nationally for excellence. This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week. This role is predominantly operational with a focus on Business-to-Business delivery and employer relationships, rather than student facing. Interviews for this role will take place on-site, at one of our college campuses in Weston-super-Mare.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the College's apprenticeship programmes are aligned with local, regional and national skills priorities.
- Contribute to the College's strategic plan and OFSTED readiness for skills judgements.
- Oversee quality assurance processes, including audits and performance monitoring.
- Drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment across the provision.
Required skills and qualifications
- A Teaching Qualification and teaching experience within further or higher education.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership building skills.
- Examples of work demonstrating an innovative approach to apprenticeship delivery.
- Ability to manage budgets and deliver against KPIs.
