We are seeking a compassionate, proactive and highly organised Pastoral Manager to join our dedicated team at our welcoming primary school in Bath. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to the wellbeing, behaviour and inclusion of our pupils.
As our Pastoral Manager, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ social, emotional and mental health needs, ensuring that every child feels safe, supported and ready to learn. You will work closely with staff, families and external agencies to provide a coordinated approach to pastoral care.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on the day-to-day pastoral support of pupils across the school
- Provide early intervention and targeted support for children experiencing social, emotional or behavioural difficulties
- Work closely with teachers to promote positive behaviour and inclusion
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents/carers and external professionals
- Monitor attendance and work with families to address persistent absence
- Support safeguarding procedures in line with school policies
- Liaise with outside agencies (e.g. CAMHS, social care, early help services)
- Promote a positive, nurturing and inclusive school environment
- Has experience working with children, ideally within a school or pastoral setting
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Is empathetic, calm and resilient, with excellent communication skills
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with children and families
- Is able to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
- Works well both independently and as part of a team
