Responsibilities
- Lead and develop structural design solutions for both superstructures and substructures across varied sectors and challenging sites.
- Collaborate within a multi‑discipline design team to deliver cost‑effective, client‑focused outcomes.
- Produce detailed calculations and design specifications using hand calculations and software tools such as AutoCAD, TEDDS, and Tekla Structural Designer.
- Manage multiple project workflows, budgets, and timelines while supporting junior engineers.
- Conduct site surveys, attend project meetings, respond to technical queries, and oversee construction phases.
- Undertake structural condition assessments and provide remediation reports.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and relevant UK and European standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Extensive post‑qualification experience in an engineering consultancy.
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and masonry design.
- Proficiency in relevant design software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Proven ability to work independently on surveys, designs, and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and a full UK driving licence.
- Experience working on building structures.
