Role
The Quantity Surveyor will contribute to the success of the company development pipeline, with multiple construction projects commencing over the next 12 months. The successful candidate will work with the Senior Quantity Surveyor and the wider construction team, with responsibility for the full lifecycle of the project, responsibilities will include monitoring and reporting of construction activities, evaluating subcontractor performance, assisting with audit and cost verifications, drafting contract communications, and attending site meetings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits to monitor and evaluate work completed to ensure it aligns with specifications and quality standards
- Administer construction contracts including the assessment of applications for payments and change control (variations and claims)
- Assist with the control and reporting of cost analysis, pricing variations, preparing accurate records of budget, costs, valuations, risks and variations
- Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor by providing all necessary forecast and site budget information to meet the business's reporting requirements
- Attend progress and risk reduction meetings with the project team and contractors
- Evaluate contractors' progress reports, ensuring compliance with contract terms
- Assist senior staff in the compilation of data to monitor individual contract performance on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Maintaining necessary systems to file and retrieve information efficiently
- Adhere to company policies on Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and Environmental standards, ensuring alignment with current regulations
Requirements
- BSc Quantity Surveying and Construction Management (RICS Accredited)
- Experience working as a QS within Civil Engineering
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and environmental standards
- Able to work on site as a Project QS
