Overview
£58k plus 6% pension, 26 days holiday. 5 days a week on site.
To administer all commercial aspects within your allocated portfolio of multidisciplinary light rail projects (primarily within the Midland Metro Alliance structure - MMA), from inception through to final account and close out, to deliver maximum commercial results.
Projects
An example of the current type of projects being delivered by the MMA is the Birmingham Eastside Metro extension to Digbeth which will serve the High Speed 2 (HS2) station at Curzon Street, separating from the existing West Midlands Metro line at Bull Street. The route is planned to consist of 1.7km of twin track running from Bull Street to a new terminus at High Street Deritend. The scheme includes four additional West Midlands Metro stops serving the east of Birmingham City Centre. The extension will service the Eastside regeneration area offering connections with New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill Railway Stations, in addition to the new HS2 station. The scheme also includes a new bus interchange adjacent to Clayton Hotel Birmingham to provide an efficient bus, Sprint, and coach interchange with HS2.
Responsibilities
To administer all commercial aspects within your allocated portfolio of multidisciplinary light rail projects (primarily within the MMA structure) from inception through to final account and close out, to deliver maximum commercial results. You will need to be able to demonstrate at least 2 years of experience working in a finance or commercial function within the engineering or construction sector, having hands-on experience working for contractors as a Quantity Surveyor on large civils or infrastructure projects. You will have a working knowledge of finance systems and various forms of contracts, cost and budget administration and financial and commercial reporting.
Qualifications
With a degree in Quantity Surveying you will be able to demonstrate at least 2 years experience in a finance or commercial function within the engineering or construction sector, with hands-on experience as a QS on large civils or infrastructure projects. Working knowledge of finance systems, forms of contracts, cost and budget administration, and financial and commercial reporting.
