Overview
The Birmingham Eastside Metro extension to Digbeth will serve the High Speed 2 station at Curzon Street. The 1.7km route is planned to run from Bull Street to a new terminus at High Street Deritend.
Responsibilities
- You will lead the different discipline teams throughout the project maintaining a 'Best for Alliance' environment.
- The role includes the coordination and facilitation of all processes in such a manner that there is minimal impact and disruption on existing operations throughout the project lifecycle.
- You will have a strong knowledge and background of commercial management of all aspects of the project to ensure that the project is taken into tram operation safely, on time and under budget.
- You will be responsible for resource planning within the project and ensuring the correct level of resource is available to ensure the project meets key milestones.
- Delivery of key elements of the BEE Project in a safe & environmentally responsible manner to time, cost and quality, in accordance with the Alliance Principles.
- Agreeing timescales, costs and resources needed to deliver a project.
- Drawing up a detailed plan for how to achieve each stage of a project.
- Selecting and leading a project team.
- Directing a multi-disciplinary Construction and Rail team.
- Communicating with staff at every level, in a calm, personable way.
- Overseeing several sections of the projects at the same time.
- Ensuring that each stage of the project happens on time, on budget and to a high standard.
- Knowledge of project delivery in a civils environment.
- Ability to manage project plans, budgets and workforce.
- Managing several projects sections simultaneously with the support of junior project managers.
- Experience of managing multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Experience of delivering within an effective safety culture in a high risk environment.
Qualifications
- Relevant Degree
- Recognised Project Management qualification.
- Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management or other professional body.

- Salary - up to £60k per annum depending on experience
- Car Allowance of £7,500, can change for company car after approx. 3 months
