As the Deputy Filling Station Manager, your role will be to support the Filling Station Manager in the operation of the Rheged Filling Station.

  • Your responsibilities will be to
  • To lead positively by example and coach the Filling Station teams to deliver great service, standards and availability.
  • Have a passion for the products we sell and an understanding of the significance of supporting small, local producers
  • Working with the Manager, develop best practices that can be used to cross train the team to ensure we deliver the expected level of customer service and standards
  • Develop our team of Service Leaders & colleagues through coaching and support
  • Deputise for the Manager as and when required
  • Assist in the financial performance of the units.
  • Work with the Filling Station Manager to successfully monitor and control all unit related costs in order to achieve the necessary margins in line with company targets.
  • To ensure product ranges and merchandising standards are correctly implemented.
  • Support the Manager to complete colleague rotas in accordance with forecasted levels of trade and within budget.

Ensure accurate completion of payroll records and management of payroll costs.

  • Ensure all legal compliance documentation is fully and accurately completed.
  • To manage the safe delivery and dispensing of petroleum products adhering to set safety measures and standards, ensuring a clean and safe working environment internally and externally.
  • To be responsible for cash handling procedures and takes appropriate actions when shortages are identified.
  • To assist with recruiting, training, motivating and developing team members to achieve their personal best, dealing with performance and conduct issues where necessary through coaching and appropriate disciplinary measures in-line with company procedures.

Ideal candidates will have exper ience of working in a high volume retail and/or catering operation with an understanding of financial controls including sales, stock management and wastage controls.

We would also like the successful candidate to have some e xperience of leading a team which would be an advantage although we'd also be interested to hear from those with experience in retail or catering looking to take a step up from a Team Leader position.

Great communication skills and a can do attitude are essential as well as the ability to deliver high standards of excellence Previous experience of working with fuel would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
