Being a Care Coordinator with Westmorland Homecare is a very special job. You will have the chance to make a difference to people’s lives within your community, build significant professional relationships with clients, Home Care Assistants and health care professionals. The role is based in our Kendal office on Highgate, Monday to Friday, 8am‑4pm and 9am‑5pm. You will also be part of the on‑call rota which involves taking the on‑call phone home on some evenings and weekends. Being a driver is essential for the role.

Duties of the Care Coordinator – Recruitment Coordinator:

  • Answering incoming calls in a positive, happy, and professional manner, making clients, staff, and potential candidates feel special and important
  • Overall management and implementation of the recruitment strategy and process from enquiry to onboarding
  • Ensuring all applicants have full satisfactory references and DBS checks in a timely manner
  • Managing recruitment advertising across job boards, social media, and printed publications alongside our social media manager
  • Sourcing, planning and attending recruitment fairs, market stalls and community outreach events
  • Being creative with recruitment campaigns and initiatives and thinking of ways outside the box to attract high quality applicants
  • Supporting and nurturing desirable candidates through the recruitment process
  • Ensuring new candidate personnel files are complete and compliant, including performing 6 monthly audits to this effect
  • Participate in a share of the on‑call rota out of hours
  • Any other activities that may be necessary to meet the needs of the business

Skills and experience required for the role:

  • Proactive and innovative approach to recruitment in the Health and Social care sector
  • You must be comfortable delivering hands on care if required
  • You must have a good level of computer / IT proficiency
  • You must have a passion to help others, care for people and do something good for the community
  • You must have an understanding of safeguarding procedures and protecting clients from harm or abuse
  • You must have a good understanding of moving and handling procedures and various types of equipment
  • You must be a driver with access to a vehicle
  • Being caring and kind with a strong ability to connect with people and build relationships is important
