About the role
Do you enjoy working with young people, helping to make a difference to their progress and attainment at school? Could you be a responsible role model, demonstrating positive behaviour in the classroom and around school? If so, we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our large, dedicated team helping students access learning in the classroom. These permanent full-time or part-time roles (depending on your requirements) will start on 1 September 2026.

We are looking for experienced learning support assistants and also for those considering a career in the field of education, either in learning support or to gain some experience in the classroom before undertaking teacher training.

To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate a passion for learning that will inspire and motivate children to be independent learners. You will also be confident in the classroom and have high expectations for the students you work with.

The role requires level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy. Previous relevant experience is helpful but not essential.

This is an exciting time to be joining UCC. We have been named in the school rebuilding programme and planning and project works will begin in the very near future. We will soon have some of the newest and best-resourced school buildings in the country.

  • Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Membership of our employee assistance programme
  • Access to the latest technology to support all staff roles
  • Cycle-to-work salary sacrifice scheme
  • Access to comprehensive training and development and the best equipment and systems available in schools
  • A chance to contribute to the future development and direction of the school and our wider community
