Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated LGV Driver / Street Care Driver at Ulverston Depot to deliver within the Street Scene Department and assist in ensuring that the highest standard of services are delivered and maintained for residents in the South Lakeland area. The main duties of the role include driving and delivering around the south lakes area, there may be occasions where you may be required to assist loading on our waste and recycling collection rounds.
On occasions the post holder may be asked to work at other depots or locations, or to carry out other associated work. The nature of the work means that the post holder will come into contact with members of the public, and a polite and helpful approach is essential.
The hours of work will be Monday to Thursday 7:00am to 3:00pm and 7:00am to 2:30 pm on Friday. Flexibility is required around these hours to ensure completion of daily workload. Successful candidates will be required to undertake IOSH Working Safely. Full training will be given in the use of any plant or machinery with which the successful candidate may be unfamiliar.
Applicants must hold a current full LGV Class C driving licence and in date Driver Qualification Card (cpc) For further details of what this encompasses please see driving licence categories on the GOVUK website. If you do not specifically hold a Full Driving Licence, please do not apply for this position.

Candidates will need to be physically fit and able to carry out the role. They will also need to have good customer skills and professional attitude as they are representing the Council in the local area.
