The predicted salary is between 12 - 15 £ per hour.

We are seeking to recruit an energetic and highly motivated individual, with great customer service skills, for two zero hours posts to support our hard‑working library team in Eden. Predominantly based in Penrith library but they may be asked to provide cover in one of our branch libraries in Alston, Appleby or Kirkby Stephen.

The role is extremely varied and requires individuals to:

  • Be the first point of contact for customers.
  • Provide information and deal effectively with customer enquiries, including help with IT enquiries – face to face, over the phone, written and digital.
  • Carry out general library duties, help with the security of buildings and basic health and safety tasks.
  • Support a wide range of events and activities for all ages.
  • Work as part of a team.

Successful candidates will have experience of delivering excellent customer service and supporting others in achieving this, effective communication skills, you will enjoy working as part of a team and will have a positive outlook to service development and change.
