Westmorland and Furness Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated LGV Driver / Street Care Driver at Kendal Depot to deliver within the Street Scene Department. The role involves ensuring the highest standards of service are delivered and maintained for residents in the South Lakeland area.

Main duties include:

  • Driving and delivering around the South Lakes area.
  • Assisting in loading during waste and recycling collection rounds when required.
  • Occasionally, the post holder may work at other depots or locations or undertake related tasks.

The role involves contact with the public, so a polite and helpful approach is essential. The working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, and Friday, 7:00 am to 2:30 pm. Flexibility around these hours is required to complete daily workloads. Successful candidates will undertake IOSH Working Safely training, with full training provided for any unfamiliar plant or machinery.

Applicants must hold a current full LGV Class C driving licence and an in-date Driver Qualification Card (CPC). For details of licence categories, please see the driving licence categories on the GOVUK website. If you do not hold a Full Driving Licence, please do not apply.
