You’ll work as part of the web team, your work will involve:

• Creating and managing websites
• Working with developers to fix website issues or develop new functionality
• Meeting internal clients to work out what they need
• Working with our developers and web host to deliver solutions
• Creating plans and prototypes with colleagues to decide how the website orapplication will work
• Testing code in different programming languages
• Building databases and transfering information between databases usingApplications Program Interfaces (APIs)use software to create the layout of buttons, links and pictures

Who we are looking for…

As a Web Develop Support Officer we would expect you to:

• Have knowledge of web CMS systems, knowledge of Drupal and LocalGovDrupal is preferable
• Understand the web accessibility requirements for gov.uk websites and apps
• Understand website security best practise
• Be thorough and pay attention to detail
• Have the ability to write code in various programming languages
• Demonstrate ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
• Demonstrate analytical thinking skills
• Be flexible and open to change
• Show you can use your initiative
• Have experience of agile working within project teams
