The predicted salary is between 35000 - 40000 £ per year.
The Facilities Lead role is primarily based in Kendal and will support the wider Facilities Management Team across Barrow and Penrith as required.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, and supported by the wider FM team you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of facilities services across Kendal Town Hall and South Lakeland House with your team to assist you.
You will help create and maintain a workplace environment that reflects best practice, supports continuous improvement, and delivers an excellent experience for colleagues, visitors, customers, and stakeholders.
Working closely with the Building Maintenance and Corporate Health & Safety teams, you will support the management of facilities-related matters across multiple sites.
This includes ensuring planned and reactive maintenance is carried out effectively, monitoring building compliance, and helping to maintain safe, welcoming, and fully operational workplaces.
You will also ensure that health and safety information is displayed appropriately and that statutory requirements are met.
The successful candidate will be customer-focused, proactive, and highly organised, with experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent communication and people management skills are essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships, manage competing priorities, and confidently address challenging situations.
You will be expected to lead and support colleagues, delegate tasks where appropriate, and contribute positively to team performance and development.

No two days are the same in this varied and rewarding role. Your responsibilities may include:
- Managing internal and external room bookings and coordinating requirements with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Responding to enquiries received through multiple shared mailboxes and providing excellent customer service to building users.
- Supporting the delivery of services across the county by working collaboratively with internal teams.
- Liaising with contractors and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Supporting meeting and event requirements, including room set-up and hospitality arrangements.
- Monitoring and maintaining building compliance requirements across multiple sites.
- Contributing to facilities management projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and improve the customer experience.
