This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Learning Improvement Service (LIS) supporting our work across the education system in Westmorland and Furness Council. We are advertising this role to develop our capacity to fulfil our LA statutory duties in education. The LIS Team cover several areas including: Early Years, Schools, Alternative Provision, Post 16, SEND, Safeguarding and maintained school governance. This role is focused on supporting LA officers in their core educational assurance and improvement duties.

The role involves supporting colleagues and assisting in the delivery of priority work programmes, including governance. You will be skilled in planning, co-ordination, monitoring progress and supporting teams across a range of duties. You need to be able to organise meetings and workshops, ensuring good administration and timely event planning for the successful delivery of each event and good coordination with attendees. You will have the ability to listen, question, advise and build positive relationships with individuals, education settings and governors.

You will need a qualification in business administration or equivalent and have experience in a wide range of educational environments.
