Location: Barrow Library, Ramsden Square, Barrow.

Contract Type: Permanent. Hours: Zero Hours.

About this opportunity

We require a tutor to teach Employability and Health and Care/Wellbeing courses to adult learners in Barrow and the surrounding area. The role involves delivering accredited qualifications, such as Mental Health Awareness, Resilience and Grit, and Employability, including short Awards at Entry Level and Certificates at Levels 1 and 2, as well as non‑accredited classes to help learners progress to formal qualifications. An assessor qualification would be an advantage, and a teaching qualification (or willingness to complete one within 12 months of starting employment) is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accredited qualifications and non‑accredited classes to adult learners.
  • Use curriculum support and guidance provided by an Advanced Practitioner.
  • Support learners in advancing to formal qualifications through engaging classroom instruction.

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification, or willingness to complete one within 12 months of starting employment.
  • Assessor qualification is an advantage.

Expectations

  • Adapt quickly and work flexibly to meet local and emerging needs.
  • Be available for classes during day and evening hours across different locations.
