About this opportunity

Would you like to teach English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) workshops and courses and inspire those within the Barrow Community? This is an exciting role which will involve delivering both accredited and non-accredited ESOL courses at various levels. We are looking for a tutor that’s highly skilled, who has a real passion and expertise in ESOL, to join our Adult Learning service.

We offer a wide and extensive range of subjects to the communities of Barrow, and the right candidate will offer interesting and engaging ESOL workshops and courses as a part of our growth as a service. We are particularly keen to expand our offer throughout Eden. Westmorland and Furness Adult Learning, rated Good by Ofsted, delivers community learning provision both face to face and online.

Our service is focussed on provision which transforms the lives of our most disadvantaged communities, enhances employment opportunities and meets the needs of local employers. Our service works with learners of all abilities and with skills levels from absolute beginner to intermediate and beyond, you will need to demonstrate the ability to teach to meet a range of learning styles and support learners with diverse needs.

The successful candidate will deliver ESOL workshops and courses online and in local community venues with the opportunity to work across the county. As a learner responsive service, we aim to offer learning opportunities during daytime and evenings, therefore the successful candidate will need to be able to work flexibly to meet demand.

The ideal candidate to join our service will be positive, flexible and enthusiastic, with the ability to deliver inspiring and engaging lessons. Teaching experience is essential and a teaching qualification, or working towards one, is required. In addition, experience of working with learners at Entry Level and being able to effectively support learners with a low-level starting point would be ideal.
