About this opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC), a ground-breaking programme that will help shape the future of health and wellbeing across our communities.
Backed by a £5 million investment from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), the HDRC is strengthening the Council's ability to use research and evidence to tackle health inequalities, improve outcomes for residents, and embed evidence-informed decision-making across the organisation.
As part of this pioneering team, you will play a key role in supporting a programme that aims to make Cumberland a centre of excellence for local authority and community-led research, with a particular focus on the challenges and opportunities facing coastal, rural and dispersed communities.
The HDRC will drive innovation, strengthen evidence-based decision making, and empower communities to have a meaningful voice in shaping future services and research priorities.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who enjoys working collaboratively and providing high-quality administrative and financial support. Whether your background is in research, higher education, local government, healthcare or another sector, we welcome applications from individuals with diverse skills and experiences.
In return, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a unique programme with a lasting impact on the health and wellbeing of our communities while developing your own knowledge and skills within an ambitious and supportive team.
This role is available on a fixed-term basis.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for individuals who embody our organisation's core values: ambitious, collaborative, compassionate, empowering, and innovative. We believe in the power of these values to drive positive change, deliver excellent public services and shape a better future for our communities.
We're also about potential over perfection and we can help you grow in the role and thrive in your career.
Be sure to take a look at the post specification (below) for the essential criteria for this role.
