We are seeking a hands-on Lead Endpoint Engineer to support the continued development of the School's endpoint management capability, with a focus on device configuration, application deployment and user experience. The postholder will act as the School's lead internal specialist in this area, providing expertise and direction across endpoint technologies and services.

The role is primarily technical, working across Intune, Jamf and other endpoint technologies to shape and maintain effective device management, configuration and support across the School. The postholder will take a lead role in developing the School's endpoint approach, reducing reliance on ad hoc knowledge, improving supportability, and maintaining clear documentation to support consistency, risk management, business continuity and service levels.

The role will report to the IT Operations Manager while working closely with IT colleagues to deliver improvements to the digital workplace and support key projects. They will also work closely with all staff and third-party suppliers to deliver and support a modern, resilient and user-centred workplace environment. Due to the nature of this role, they will be required to work on site at our main site in Dean's Yard and our linked prep school, Westminster Under School, as required.

  • Endpoint Management and Device Configuration
    • Lead the configuration, support and ongoing development of Microsoft Intune and Jamf
    • Develop and improve device builds, provisioning and configuration standards
    • Lead the lifecycle management of staff and pupil devices, including refresh planning
    • Maintain security baselines and device policies and support colleagues on endpoint management
    • Manage application updates, version control and deployment timing using Intune and PatchMyPC, balancing security, feature delivery and end-user experience
    • Maintain clear process and configuration documentation for application deployment and updates
  • iPad Estate and Classroom Technology
    • Lead the operation and improvement of the School's iPad estate
    • Configure and maintain Jamf and Apple School Manager for device management and deployment
    • Provide technical leadership for the planning, implementation and ongoing operation of Apple Classroom to support teaching and learning
  • User Experience and Support
    • Monitor and improve device performance, login experience and endpoint reliability
    • Provide L2/L3 support for complex endpoint and device issues
    • Work with the IT Helpdesk to support consistent, high-quality user outcomes
  • Planning, Delivery and Continual Improvement
    • Contribute to the planning and delivery of endpoint-related projects and service improvements
    • Lead or support initiatives to improve endpoint management, deployment and user experience

Hours of Work

This is a full-time role of 35 hours per week, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day. Working hours will fall within the 8:00 to 17:30 operational window, with specific start and finish times agreed with the line manager. Occasional flexibility may be required to support key incidents, project milestones or major service changes. Where additional hours are agreed in advance, time off in lieu may be granted in line with School policy. Time off in lieu is not automatic and applies only to significant additional hours worked by prior agreement or subsequent approval.

Salary

£47,500 per annum.
