Hours of work: The post holder is employed for eight hours per week, term time only. The role requires up to four hours per week on Thursday afternoons; remaining hours can be flexible within the school day.

Salary: £6,888.63 per annum (actual).

Job Introduction

We are seeking an inspirational musician and communicator to allow our school community to thrive within meaningful and sustained partnerships. The role will promote relationships within the music education sector, locally and beyond, for the benefit of all.

The Music Partnerships Coordinator will work with the Director of Music to refine and further develop our strategy for music partnerships. This position is created to reflect the value and importance that the School places on partnerships, establishing new music partnerships and strengthening existing ones at both local and national levels for the benefit of all participants.

Responsibilities

  • Develop opportunities for Westminster pupils to work or perform side‑by‑side with other young people.
  • Develop a series of workshops in which Westminster pupils can work or perform with/co‑coach pupils in local primary schools.
  • Develop a student mentor scheme including training for student mentors.
  • Develop a series of primary school assemblies involving secondary school pupils.
  • Assist in design and delivery of large‑scale collaborative performances involving large numbers of pupils across different schools.
  • Liaise with institutions and organisations within the local area, including the Tri‑borough Music Hub and its partner organisations.
  • Assist with the organisation of taster events for various age groups to encourage greater exposure to different instruments, styles and genres.
  • Strengthen links with professional musicians and other contacts within the music industry to expose pupils from Westminster and other local institutions to professional role models.
  • Assist with the administration and evaluation of partnership projects.
  • Coordinate the logistics for Partner Schools at our collaborative concert at an external venue (and the preceding rehearsals at Westminster) in March each year.
