Longevity Scripts is seeking to fill a Pharmacy Data Entry Technician in its Pharmacy located in Orlando, Florida. This position is responsible for receiving, accurately transcribing and entering prescriptions into our pharmacy system with both speed and accuracy. The schedule for this position is 11:30am-8:00pm with rotating weekends.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for entering specific orders, patient data, allergies, and drug interactions into the pharmacy system in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for research, follow up, troubleshooting, as pertaining to prescription/patient data entry discrepancies.
  • Resolve any discrepancies in orders with the customer including but not limited to illegible prescriptions, or other potential medication concerns.
  • The Pharmacy data entry technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Answer incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure accurate information processing.

Qualifications:

  • Current State Pharmacy Technician license and certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Brand vs. Generic medications required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Drug Classes and Medication Classification required.
  • Understanding of Medical Terminology required.
  • Math skills with an emphasis on calculations as well as analytical skills required.
  • Comprehensive computer knowledge and skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, accurately, and efficiently.
  • 1-3 years: Long Term Care Pharmacy Prescription Entry experience required.

Licenses & Certifications Required:

  • Registered Pharmacy Tech
