The Gift Shop Manager oversees the daily operations of the Community Shoppe, ensuring an inviting, well-organized retail experience for all visitors. Responsibilities include managing inventory levels, processing orders and payments, maintaining store appearance, and supporting administrative tasks such as invoicing and basic design work in Canva. The manager also leads and coordinates Shoppe volunteers to create a positive, customer-focused environment. Ideal candidates bring prior retail management experience—preferably in a gift or convenience store—strong organizational skills, and a friendly, collaborative approach. This position follows weekday business hours with one required Saturday shift per month.
Essential Job Functions
- Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities.
- Maintain a perpetual inventory of all Shoppe items, including maintaining the price strategy defined by management.
- Assist residents with pricing donated items sold at the Shoppe.
- Purchase inventory items from designated suppliers.
- Liaison between outside vendors and the community.
- Collect funds for the Dry-Cleaning vendor at the community.
- Maintain store appearance including seasonal changes.
- Responsible for performing a bi-annual inventory or as designated by management.
- Assist with the preparation of outgoing mail/packages.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; and 6 - 12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
