The Role

As Home Improvement Agency (HIA) Caseworker, you’ll make a lasting contribution to delivering a specialist service that improves the lives of our most vulnerable residents. You’ll work alongside surveyors, handypersons and service support officers to make adaptations and improvements so that disabled and older residents can live independently, comfortably and safely. You’ll own and manage a portfolio of casework, explore options for progress major adaptations, be the main point of contact, provide advice and guidance to residents, colleagues and managers, support decision making and resolution of issues. This role offers meaningful work and professional development opportunities.

About You

Preferably you have experience of customer-facing casework management in Housing, Social Services, Health & Social Care, or a related field, and strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with stakeholders. You can work independently and manage your own portfolio of cases, build trusted relationships and liaise between vulnerable individuals and service providers. You understand the enhanced duty of care. Ideally you have a good working knowledge of Home Improvement Grant systems (Housing Grants Construction and Regeneration Act 1996) and alternative funding options.

Westminster City Council supports Care Leavers, who wish to be considered will be invited to interview if they meet essential criteria.
