As an apprentice, you'll be supported to develop your skills, contribute to meaningful work and help make a positive difference for our residents.
- What You’ll Do
- Assist in the delivery of procurement exercises, including quotations, tenders and framework call‑offs
- Support the preparation of procurement documentation, including specifications, evaluation criteria and tender packs
- Help coordinate tender processes, including issuing documents and managing timelines
- Work with internal service departments to understand their requirements and support procurement activity
- Support the administration of tender evaluations, including scoring templates and moderation meetings
- Assist in ensuring procurement activity complies with Council procedures and relevant legislation
- Help maintain clear audit trails and documentation for procurement exercises
- Work with the Responsible Procurement Team to support sustainable, ethical and socially responsible procurement
- Support engagement with external suppliers, including helping smaller businesses access council contract opportunities
- Maintain accurate contract and supplier records and support procurement systems and purchase order reviews

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you may have the opportunity to progress into a permanent role within Westminster City Council, subject to organisational requirements and performance.
This apprenticeship will provide a strong foundation for a career in procurement, commercial services or business administration, with opportunities to progress into roles such as Procurement Officer, Commercial Officer or other business support positions.
