Westminster Abbey is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Health and Safety professional to act as a Senior Independent Advisor on a voluntary basis, providing expert oversight and constructive challenge to support the Abbey's ongoing commitment to excellence in Health and Safety. This is a unique opportunity to contribute at a senior level within a complex, high-profile, and historic environment, supporting the Abbey's leadership in maintaining a safe, compliant, and proactive organisational culture.
Safeguarding: Westminster Abbey is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults at risk. To prevent them from harm, we undertake appropriate checks (including the relevant level of criminal record check) on staff and volunteers and require them to complete relevant safeguarding training. This post requires a basic, level criminal record check.
About The Department: The Human Resources team works to foster an environment where all the 600 staff and volunteers who serve the Abbey can flourish. The team manages recruitment, staff relations, learning and development, advising and coaching managers, benefit provision and the implementation of Abbey policies. They also work alongside the teams responsible for health and safety, social engagement, pension administration, and safeguarding.
