Overview Of Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Trainee Rice Miller at our Selby site. You will learn to lead by example, championing Health & Safety and Food Safety standards. Your responsibilities include following production plans, providing shift cover for other millers and mill cleaners, and ensuring smooth operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Champion Health & Safety and Food Safety
- Understand and utilize Continuous Improvement (CI)
- Promote Sustainability
- Monitor yield performance
- Implement and follow production plans
- Manage Rice Lot number changes
- Provide shift cover as needed
- Coordinate crop changes with stakeholders
- Use KPIs to drive performance improvements
- Adhere to the mill cleaning schedule
- Support Asset Care plans
- Foster teamwork across the site
- Embed Good Manufacturing Practices
- Support team development
- Utilize KPIs and scorecards
The Right Person
We seek a candidate with a strong desire to learn, effective information management skills, customer focus, independence, teamwork, and proactive problem-solving abilities. You will have the opportunity to shadow experienced Millers and gain valuable insights. The role is initially day-based, Monday to Friday, progressing to a rotating 24/7 shift pattern with increased salary upon full training.
