Overview Of Role
Location: Manchester
At Westmill we have an HR team committed to building the capability of our organisation to deliver our business goals. We now have an exciting opportunity for a passionate HR professional to join the team as an HR Advisor. Working closely with the HR Business Partner, Site General Managers, and their teams, this is a senior-level generalist HR role designed to provide effective core HR services and advice to a broad number of stakeholders across three key manufacturing sites.
As an active member of the site teams, the postholder will:
- Coach, advise, support, train and, where appropriate, challenge managers on all aspects of the employee life cycle including resourcing, organisational and people development, performance management, succession planning, employee relations, inclusion & diversity, wellbeing, audits and reward.
- Act as a trusted advisor to site leadership, providing sound judgment and recommendations on complex HR and ER matters.
- Proactively identify workforce trends and risks, recommending and implementing solutions to mitigate issues before they escalate.
- Build strong, credible relationships across all levels, acting as a visible and approachable HR presence on-site.
- Operate with resilience and agility, managing competing priorities and adapting quickly to changing business needs.
- Lead and influence change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and engagement strategies to support cultural and operational improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement in HR processes, leveraging data and insights to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
This is a fast-paced role where you will need to think on your feet, make decisions confidently, and manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
Key Accountabilities
Working closely with the HR Business Partner, Site General Managers, and their teams, this is a generalist HR role designed to provide effective core HR services and advice to a broad number of stakeholders. The role works across 3 key manufacturing sites. As an active member of the site teams, the postholder is expected to contribute and deliver against the people elements of the site and technical Business Plans as well as playing an active part in the delivery of the Westmill People Strategy.
The Right Person
This is a truly generalist HR role and the ideal candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to work at pace with passion, enthusiasm, tenacity and resilience. You must be able to think analytically, with strong critical reasoning skills combined with a pragmatic approach to your work. Experience gained in a comparable FMCG environment is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, assertive team player who is able to work effectively under pressure and to drive their own workload and manage key priorities. You must be organised, accurate, and able to multi-task effectively and comfortable dealing with ambiguity and developing effective solutions.
