Overview
Reporting to the Technical Manager this role is responsible for the ongoing development of the hygiene team, Hygiene management system and day-to-day management of hygiene activities across the site, whilst ensuring compliance to relevant business processes including Statutory, Mandatory and Legal requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Coordinate the scheduled cleaning of all plant and equipment to meet QMS requirements and customer standards.
- Manage all people-related activity for the hygiene team e.g. holidays leave, sickness including RTW, and PDR
- Review cleaning effectiveness/standards of cleaning by the factory teams to ensure compliance to standards is maintained.
- Organise and participate in food safety audits (hollow body, open spot, foreign body & security).
- To support with ATP and allergen swabbing / cleaning inspections and recleaning as and when required
- Provide expert hygiene & GMP input to the factory HACCP evaluation.
- Support the wider technical team in daily GMP audits/walks and support in closing actions outside of operation CAYG requirements.
- Provide monthly reports of compliance.
- Audits [HACCP / Process / GMP] as per schedule.
- Investigations for any consumer complaints.
- The work is both proactive and reactive, therefore a certain amount of forward planning is required to ensure objectives are completed in a timely manner regardless of the reactive nature of the workloads.
The Right Person
The successful candidate will have the principal responsibility to provide subject matter expertise on hygiene and GMP standards, ensuring effective operating procedures (SOPs) are in place for all hygiene tasks. The Hygiene Manager is required to train, coach, and assess site employees ensuring delivery of tasks are to a high standard whilst also managing hygiene contractors, pest control activities, food safety audits which must comply with microbiological standards.
