We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support our Alconbury site and help maintain a safe, compliant and positive working environment. This is a key role working closely with the General Manager and site teams to drive health and safety standards across a busy manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Taking overall responsibility for the site health and safety agenda, ensuring legal compliance and driving continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing environment.
- Leading the development and implementation of site health and safety standards, systems and action plans, working closely with the General Manager and senior site team.
- Involvement internal and external audit activity, including ISO, ethical and compliance audits, ensuring actions are followed through to completion.
- Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, trend reviews and RIDDOR reporting where required.
- Providing competent advice, coaching and challenge to managers and supervisors to improve safety standards and promote visible safety leadership.
- Overseeing risk assessments, COSHH controls, training requirements and safety engagement activity across the site.
The Person
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Health & Safety Manager, Site H&S Lead or equivalent role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification is desirable.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading accident and incident investigations, audits, risk assessments, COSHH controls and corrective action plans.
- Ability to conduct thorough root cause analysis.
- Strong management skills with the ability to influence others.
