Westland is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Production Manager to join our Ellesmere Port site and take full ownership of professional growing media production. This is a site senior, operationally critical role, responsible for ensuring that every unit of Sinclair Professional growing media is manufactured to the highest technical and quality standards. You will act as the site champion for Westland’s Sinclair Professional Brand, ensuring that production processes, raw materials, and finished products meet the highest technical standards across the professional product range.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all production processes for professional growing media.
- Provide technical support for Sinclair Professional products, including troubleshooting, customer feedback, and failure analysis.
- Liaise with commercial, technical, and customer service teams to inform product improvements, NPD, and operational development.
- Oversee the production of raw materials and work-in-progress to meet production mix requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plan and manage staffing, productivity, and line efficiency to meet daily production targets and minimise waste.
- Maintain production areas to GMP and H&S standards, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with professional growers and area managers to support technical and development queries.
- Participate in R&D activities, including grower trials and operational NPD support.
- Report trends, KPIs, and production performance to site management and senior stakeholders.
