Westland Horticulture is seeking an experienced National Account Manager to join our dynamic sales team. This is a high-profile role driving sustainable, profitable growth across our key grocery accounts in the UK. We’re looking for a commercial, results-driven professional with a proven track record in FMCG, managing multiples, delivering revenue and margin targets, and developing long-term, strategic customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and exceed volume, margin, and P&L targets across all garden channels
- Develop business plans, identify market opportunities, and provide complete commercial solutions for key retail multiples
- Maintain strong customer relationships, conducting business planning and account visits to maximize growth opportunities
- Lead the execution of product launches, merchandising, and account activations
- Develop proposals, negotiate terms, and implement contractual agreements with accountability for financial results
- Champion New Product Development (NPD), brand growth, and marketing initiatives across internal teams
- Manage and motivate Junior NAMs / Sales Executives, driving team performance and alignment with overall sales strategy
- Support the adoption of ERP, eCommerce, and digital technologies to drive sales opportunities
- Monitor achievements versus budget forecasts and provide regular reporting to management
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a National Account Manager in Grocery/FMCG/Retail
- Impressive experience managing national grocery accounts
- Strong P&L and commercial acumen with the ability to deliver measurable results
- Experience negotiating with key accounts / multiples and leading strategic growth initiatives
- Demonstrable ability to develop and lead teams, mentor talent, and drive succession planning
- Commercially minded with trade marketing, product development, and operational experience bringing products to market
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
