Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for Senior EC&I Engineer roles on a contract basis, based in Cumbria or Warrington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve technical queries from suppliers and clients in a timely and structured manner.
  • Support the Contract Engineering Lead throughout design and procurement phases.
  • Monitor equipment manufacturing, testing, and delivery through to site installation.
  • Review supplier documentation, technical submissions, and surveillance reports to required standards.
  • Identify and manage engineering risks, opportunities, and design changes.
  • Coordinate interface management across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Assess and validate engineering modification requests for accuracy, compliance, and necessity.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in instrumentation design, procurement, testing, or installation.
  • Strong capability in reviewing technical documentation and following up with suppliers.
  • Knowledge of British and/or EU electrical standards.
  • Background in heavy industry environments such as nuclear, power generation, or oil & gas.
  • Understanding of process instrumentation systems and their integration within complex facilities.
