Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Lead Planner / Area Planner (electrical bias) to be engaged on a permanent basis, based in Bridgwater.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Planner in the implementation and maintenance of Project Controls processes for Planning.
  • Support Senior Project/ Programme Managers including the production of monthly reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis.
  • Collaborate with other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls, as well as other Project Support Functions, to help deliver Project goals in keeping with the client principles of Trust, Transparency and Teamwork.
  • Produce and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera 6 (P6), with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising approved construction techniques.
  • Ensure the Level 2/4 IWS is updated to an agreed timeframe.
  • Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
  • Identify, analyse and provide solutions to time-related issues.
  • Co-ordinate, verify and produce Project-level schedule reports to a defined reporting cycle, including commentary on key time-related drivers and performance issues.
  • Adhere to Project governance and Scheduling standards and procedures.
  • Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with client policies and procedures.

What you'll have:

  • Minimum of a degree in Engineering, Construction or other related field, or HND or equivalent qualification with recognised experience commensurate with a degree.
  • Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status.
  • Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Scheduling role on a major construction project.
  • Substantial experience in the use of scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above.
  • Experience of commercial contracting.
