Overview

Westlakes Recruit are currently supporting one of our major clients recruiting for an Electronic Security Systems Commissioning Manager, to work on one of their Nuclear Defence projects in Berkshire on a contract basis.

This is a chance to play a key role in one of the UK\'s most complex and high-profile projects, helping to deliver the successful commissioning and demonstration of specialist equipment, building services, and control systems that will bring the facility to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on safety requirements for all commissioning activities.
  • Oversee and manage commissioning work packages across a complex infrastructure project.
  • Support the development and delivery of the Overall Project Commissioning Strategy.
  • Manage the production, review, and approval of supplier test documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate commissioning tests in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Integrate commissioning test requirements into the overall project programme.
  • Contribute to the construction schedule to ensure phased work release aligns with commissioning activities.
  • Monitor and report on commissioning prerequisites and progress.
  • Produce Learning from Experience reports and presentations.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement plans and chair commissioning reviews, including design, change, and procedure reviews.
  • Manage changes to commissioning schedules, resources, and forecasts effectively.

About You

  • Significant experience commissioning large-scale facilities and managing commissioning teams within Electronic Security Systems.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise security systems including card access control, intruder detection, CCTV, and perimeter intrusion detection systems.
  • Background in delivering and understanding design aspects of electronic security systems.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex projects, ideally in defence or similarly technical environments.
  • Hands-on experience in electronic security systems commissioning.
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of commissioning methodologies.
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.

Security Clearance

Applicants must currently hold or be willing to obtain Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
