About the Opportunity

Westlakes Recruit is supporting a leading engineering and nuclear organisation with the appointment of an experienced Project Quality Manager. This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring quality, compliance and nuclear safety standards are maintained across major UK nuclear projects and associated manufacturing activities. You will work closely with project, engineering, manufacturing, construction and supply chain teams to promote a Right First Time culture and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project quality processes and assurance arrangements.
  • Provide quality support across manufacturing, construction and installation activities.
  • Promote a strong nuclear safety and Right First Time culture.
  • Manage quality assurance and quality control activities, including inspection, NDT and dimensional checks.
  • Support the identification and prevention of Counterfeit, Fraudulent and Suspect Items (CFSI).
  • Conduct supplier audits, reviews and quality assessments.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support the resolution of technical and process quality issues.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders on quality matters.
  • Provide quality training and support across project and operational teams.

About You

We are looking for an experienced quality professional with a background in nuclear, manufacturing, engineering, construction or another highly regulated environment.

Essential

  • Extensive experience implementing quality programmes within manufacturing or construction environments.
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and welding/NDT standards.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Strong quality assurance and quality control experience.
  • Experience working with suppliers and conducting audits.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • HNC or above in Engineering or a related discipline.

Desirable

  • UK nuclear experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19443 and RCC-M.
  • Nuclear new build experience.
  • Knowledge of modern welding procedures.
  • Experience with CFSI prevention and supply chain assurance.
  • French language skills.
