As Process Operator you will operate manual and automated plant equipment to ensure production activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with agreed plant programmes, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. You will report to Assistant Plant Manager and be based at Springfields Fuel Site.
Responsibilities- Operating and monitoring manual and automated plant equipment to support safe and efficient production.
- Overseeing and interacting with chemical processes to ensure products meet required specifications.
- Working safely within a high‑hazard, COMAH‑regulated environment.
- Following all safe systems of work and challenging unsafe behaviours to promote a strong safety culture.
- Completing process checks, records, and logs accurately in line with training and procedures.
- Providing agreed services to internal and external customers, meeting defined quality and service standards.
- Actively participating in improvement projects and initiatives, working closely with Engineers and other stakeholders.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment, with particular focus on your area of responsibility.
- Complying with all applicable legislative, regulatory, and company standards and procedures (including safety, quality, security, and risk management).
- Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including full‑face respiratory protection, as necessary for the role.
- Undertaking mandatory checks and authorisations, including: Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Registration as a monitored worker under the Ionising Radiations Regulations.
- A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English, or 2 GCSEs at the same standard plus relevant work‑related experience.
- The ability to follow defined procedures and work safely in a regulated, safety‑critical environment.
- Experience operating within a chemical plant or process environment.
- A forklift truck licence.
- Experience working in the nuclear industry (advantageous but not essential).
