Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Process Engineer to deliver identified Process Engineering deliverables across one or more projects. The successful candidate will report to the Principal Process Engineer and be located at Westlakes or Springfields.
About The Role
The Process Engineer will be responsible for the production of Process drawings, calculations, and technical documents. They will also participate in design meetings and technical reviews, and present technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of Process drawings: Process Flow Diagrams and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams/Engineering Flow Diagrams.
- Production of calculations including mass, energy and flow balances, pipe and equipment sizing utilising MS Excel, MathCAD, Pipenet, Aspen Custom Modeler or other software as required.
- Production of technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements etc.
- Participation in design meetings and technical reviews and presentation of technical solutions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector
- MEng preferred
- Chartered Engineer/incorporated or working towards and engaged on a programme of Continual Professional Development.
- Working knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied including (but not limited to) Pressure Equipment Regulations, COMAH, COSHH, DSEAR etc.
- An appreciation and understanding of the Construction & Design Management Regulations.
- An attention to detail and a high standard of verbal and written skills
- Communication and cooperation with the team and sub-contractors.
- A natural aptitude for undertaking engineering calculations, analysis and problem solving.
