As a Maintenance Manager you will lead the maintenance function at our site/facility. You will ensure that plant, equipment, and facilities are maintained safely, reliably, and efficiently to support operational performance and compliance. This is a leadership role, managing a skilled team and driving continuous improvement in maintenance strategy, asset reliability, and cost control. You will report to the Plant Manager and be located at Springfields Fuel Site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop the maintenance team.
- Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) strategies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spares, and external contractors.
- Minimise downtime through effective fault diagnosis and support root cause analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and reliability-focused maintenance practices.
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and KPIs using CMMS systems.
Health, Safety and Compliance
- Manage the compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and all site-specific procedures.
- Manage the adherence to COSHH regulations when handling insulation materials.
- Manage working safely in challenging environments including at height, confined spaces, and live industrial sites.
- Take lead on continuous safety improvements; chair the maintenance safety improvement team meetings.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in Engineering or related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH, CEng/EngTech).
- Experience with CMMS and asset management systems.
Skills:
- Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager or senior maintenance leadership.
- Strong technical background in mechanical and electrical engineering.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or utilities.
- Demonstrated people management and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance.
- Ability to plan strategically.
